Brisket (Harris Style)

Preheat oven to 350°

1/4 Cup Currant jelly
12 Oz Beer or Rice Wine
1 Bottle Chili sauce (Heinz)
2 Medium onions, quartered
Seasoning salt
4 Lbs Brisket

Sprinkle brisket with seasoning salt. Brown both sides in a skillet. Place brisket in Dutch oven or similar pot that seals well. Add remaining ingredients. Cook for about 3 hours. Separate meat from sauce and chill. Skim fat from sauce and trim fat from meat. Slice meat, combine with sauce, warm and serve.

Notes:

To freeze place sliced meat in container and add sauce to cover.

We frequently double sauce ingredients so that we have plenty of sauce.
