Cucumber and Dill Salad

Ingredients:

  • 1 large cucumber
  • 1 small onion (optional)
  • sea salt
  • freshly ground black pepper
  • about 1/2 tsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp white mustard seeds
  • 1 T chopped fresh dill
  • 1 tsp dried dill weed
  • 2 T wine vinegar

Instructions:

  1. Peel and thinly slice the cucumber and the onion.  Put the slices into a shallow dish and sprinkle with a little salt, pepper and sugar. Mixin the mustard seeds, dill and vinegar, cover and leave until you need it.
  2. The salad will make quite a lot of juice.  Optionally, drain it off before serving.  Its nice mopped up with bread.
